Yau Sang became a Member of Galvanizers Association of Australia in May.

Directors of Yau Sang had successfully completed the Galvanizing Plant Operators Seminar conducted by Galvanizers Association of Australia at the University of New South Wales, Sidney in April.
As a hot-dip galvanizing factory, Yau Sang was included in the List of Approved Specialist Contractors (Class No.V) for public works by Hong Kong Government in June.

Yau Sang's management and senior production staff had visited most major galvanizing plants in Europe and attended the 14th international Galvanizing Conference in June at Munich, West Germany.

Accepted by Galvanizers Association (U.K.) and American Hot Dip Galvanizers Association as a member.

In April, we moved to our self-owned New Plant No.1 where covered a total area of 3,700 square metres(40,000 sq. ft.).

Yau Sang introduced the first and only Centrifugal Machine in Hong Kong for Hot Dip Galvanizing. It contributed higher quality to small articles, prevented excessive zinc deposit and resulted very smooth surface after galvanizing. In particular for bolts and nuts, threads are clearly reserved.

Established another department, provided gritblasting treatment in connection with zinc spraying and painting. Developed wide range of protective coatings service to steel upon different requirement and various conditions.

Market extended to supply galvanized raw materials and manufacturing of galvanized products in large scale of production.

To cope with the foreseeable market demand and follow the latest standard of quality, Yau Sang proposed another new galvanizing plant No.2 with larger area and more, better facilities and equipment as well as the production system in preparation to comply with the world-wide Quality Assurance – ISO 9000.

The production line of HOT DIP GALVANIZING moved to our self-owned New Plant No.2, where covered a total area of 8,350 square metres (90,000 sq. ft.) with 2 production lines and galvanizing bath upto 13 metres long.
In October, Yau Sang's officer hand visited the major galvanizing plants in Taiwan, and attended the 1st Asian-Pacific General Galvanizing Conference.

Yau Sang successfully passed the HKQAA cert. Audit for ISO 9002: 1994 certification, recognized and with specification that Yau Sang is the galvanizer to provide "Provision of Hot-Dip Galvanizing Service and production of Galvanized Standard Products".

Representative to attend the 4th Asian Pacific General Galvanizing Conference, which was held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in September. In this event, benefited not only recent technical know-how for hot dip galvanizing, but also further developed and enchanced the connection with other countries' Galvanizers and their Organizations.
Participated to plan and orangize the Galvanizers Association of Hong Kong.

As the Galvanizers Association of Hong Kong established in January, Yau Sang's staffs have been elected into the Director Board and assigned to be the executives for the Association's affairs.

The Ninth Edition of "Introduction & Service Directory in Hot-Dip Galvanizing" was published in March.

Key executive of Yau Sang was appointed to be the Chairman of "Galvanizers Association of Hong Kong" for the year of 2002 to 2004.

This is the mission of Yau Sang to assure the quality management and upgrade our professional sercie all the time. Yau Sang has passed the ISO 9001:2000 Cert. Audit again by HKQAA in December.

The Tenth Edition of "Introduction & Service Directory in Hot-Dip Galvanizing" was published in June. Meanwhile, Yau Sang is planning to issue this Service Directory in CD format for easier reference and be more user friendly.
